  Plans and Ideas

  It was a pleasure working with this family once again. It is our 3^rd project together and we know exactly what to expect from each other. This property was purchased in rough shape and needed a transformation into a forever home that would fit perfectly in this high-end neighbourhood. Just gut renovation is never enough and obviously there was a need of a tiny addition with entire basement underpinning. The house had to represent classic and traditional style that suits exterior of the house.

  Project Challenges

  Once again, we were at mercy of old foundation walls and studs, but surprisingly it wasn’t that bad, even though house was over 100 years old. Basement has double the thickness of regular foundation, which made underpinning more difficult. The issue in old homes within Baby Point area is to find room for ducts within existing space without creating too many bulkheads. There is always a limit of height in each room and taking it away for ducts will destroy the looks of house we wanted to renovate.

  Completion Summary

  It is always great to work with clients that know exactly what they want. One of them was the boss and the other inspected all the work and told us about corrections we needed to do. During the process, as always, there were few minor changes to the layout but nothing too crazy. This house is now an example of what old tudor home can be transformed into with all luxury upgrades, smart home features and amazing finishes.
